[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
Vendor needs to provide legal services related for advising, agreement drafting and for real estate projects owned or in development by the agency to the government authority located in Providence, RI.
• Negotiates, reviews, and prepares contracts, agreements, and conveyances, such as option and purchase agreements, lease agreements, easements, purchase contracts, and other legal documents on behalf of the agency.
• Reviews, analyzes, drafts, and revises ordinances, policies, manuals, and other memoranda to ensure they are coherent, enforceable, and consistent with state and federal law; advises agency staff when revisions and changes need to be made.
• Research, interprets, and applies laws, court decisions, and other legal authority in the preparation of opinions and briefs; prepares formal legal opinions upon request of the agency.
• Drafts or supervises drafting of ordinances and resolutions for the agency, explains the foregoing to the agency or agency board, and answers questions related thereto.
• Engages in litigation-related matters including drafting, discovery, court attendance, mediation, investigation, hearings and trials, and similar activities.
• Prepares for and attends agency board meetings to discuss legal-related items of assigned projects.
• May supervises for programs related to municipal-bond investments, public funding and tax credits such as agency.
• May supervise acquisition of real property interests for the town to include title review, interdepartmental communications, negotiations and litigation.
