Government Authority located in Rhode Island; USA based organization looking for expert vendor for Professional Development in Student Engagement and Evaluation for Adult Educators.
[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
Vendor needs to provide professional development in student engagement and evaluation for adult educators
- Training professionals / consultants should be qualified to provide Professional Development
opportunities for the state network of adult education providers. This system currently enrols more
than 5,500 adult learners annually. There are currently 262 local teachers, 281 unpaid volunteer tutors, 158 administrator positions, and 33 local counsellors
- Training professionals / consultants interested in providing Professional Development for this workforce should submit bids detailing experience and capacity to deliver training for any of the following topics:
• Inclusion of Students with Disabilities in Adult Education
• Motivational Interviewing (MI)
• Proficiency or Performance Based Teaching and Learning
• Adult Education College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS/ELPS)
• Orientation of New Practitioners
• National Reporting System for Adult Education (NRS)
• High School Equivalency Programs (ex: GED, HiSET, NEDP)
- Training professional / consultant knowledge of the learning and development process is essential for this role. Training professional / consultant will be able to set training goals and objectives, analyze needs, design appropriate solutions and evaluate effectiveness. They will have delivered training in an interactive, engaging and persuasive manner. Their personal attributes will include being independent, outgoing, student-oriented, adaptable, and collaborative, and they will have a genuine interest in professional development for adult educators. Previous experience delivering training in partnership with an accredited institution of higher education highly desirable.
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree required.
• Professional training and content experience for a minimum of 4 years as an educator in at least
one of the following required: adult students with learning disabilities; English Language
Learners; ABE in Mathematics; ABE in Literacy; High School Equivalency.
• An understanding of differentiation and universal design required.
• Experience motivating students in the learning process required.
• Experience with and understanding of data collection and assessment for National Reporting
System for federally funded literacy programs required
• Certification applicable to any one or more of the following content areas is highly desirable:
Adult Education; Motivational Interviewing; Supporting Persistence in Adult Learners;
Performance Based Teaching and Learning; Assessment Design; Inclusive Educational Methods.
• Degree concentration in Education and/or secondary educator certification strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of adult education system in Rhode Island strongly preferred
• Experience writing and executing independent work plans preferred
• CASAS (Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System) Certification preferred.
• Master’s degree preferred.
