(1) Vendor needs to provide legal counsel services to the government authority located in Barrington, RI.
- Education law, with emphasis on knowledge of Rhode Island statutes and related practice
in Rhode Island.
- Labor law, both and federal, especially those related to contract negotiations, contract implementation, state labor relation board proceedings, and labor arbitration.
- Assist in Contract Negotiation
- Familiarity with the appeals process inclusive of, but not limited to, the state labor relations board, department of elementary and secondary education, american arbitration association, special education hearings, and grievance procedures as contractually provided.
- Practice before courts inclusive of, but not limited to, employee injury claims and litigation, family court, district court, superior court, and supreme court.
- Telephonic and personal consultations with the school committee, superintendent of schools, director of administration and finance, and other designated school administrators.
- Attendance at school committee meetings or meetings held at the school department's administrative offices, when required.
- Appearances at hearings, trials, etc.
- Document preparation, review, etc.
- Travel to appropriate hearing, court, or school department premises, when required.
- Clerical fees, copying costs, etc.
- Other miscellaneous services.
