[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide judicial officer and staff bias and cultural sensitivity assessment and training services s on the topics of cultural competency, trauma-informed practices, bias, systemic inequities, and inclusive practices and additionally, the vendor will create and administer a survey to measure judicial officers’ and employees’ perceptions of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and use the results to recommend continued education strategies to help the judiciary determine which best practices would meet the future needs of its workforce and service recipients to the government authority located in Cranston, RI.
- To provide expertise and guidance in the following areas: 1) promoting and fostering a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion; 2) ensuring that members of the public receive fair and just treatment when interacting with court employees; 3) enhancing the cultural-competence of judicial officers and Judiciary employees; and 4) creating a space where participants can have open conversations about their perceptions of diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
- Shall administer a survey to measure judicial officers’ and employees’ perceptions of diversity and inclusion in the workplace. The survey shall be conducted using a measurement instrument created by the vendor to specifically survey court employees to assess their perceptions regarding bias in the administration of justice.
- Understand the current and historic drivers affecting how the public perceives the administration of justice.
- Identify how the legal system contributes and can deconstruct existing and perceived inequalities.
- Promote a culture of individual responsibility as a key element of systemic change.
- Offer recommendations to help training participants mitigate the influence of bias in the legal profession by helping them recognize bias in themselves and provide best practices to guard against it.
- Describe the role procedural fairness plays promoting access to justice for all and increasing public confidence in the judicial system.
- Discuss restorative justice and its success reducing recidivism.
(2) All questions must be submitted no later than August 31, 2021.
