[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
(1) Vendor needs to provide an experienced, knowledgeable and qualified archaeological firm to conduct further research and study of a town-owned property known to be the site of a historically significant seventeenth century colonial settlement to the government authority located in Barrington, RI.
- Coordinate all field work with the both the Town and Barrington Preservation Society’s (BPS) designated representative.
- Conduct more intensive metal detecting across the lot, and well as follow-up GPR surveys in key artifact areas as identified in the PAST/AHS Lot 3A (draft) Report dated September 7, 2020.1
- Develop subsurface testing strategy depending on the results of Task 1 and original survey. Select and rank priority areas.
- Perform professional subsurface archaeological testing in the form of shovel test pits and square meter units as warranted by the PAST/AHS Lot 3A (draft) Report dated September 7, 2020 and the results of Tasks 1 and 2.
- Provide a Draft Cultural Resource Management Plan (CRMP) that sets forth protective measures, prioritizes research goals related to what was found in the survey(s), and presents the best practice means to explore further the cultural resources on the property.
(2) All the questions must be submitted no later than January 12, 2021
