[A] Budget: Looking for Proposals
[B] Scope of Service:
Vendor needs to provide project manager-island wide broadband network services including field sight surveys to collect environmental information and spectrum analysis at all Wi-Fi locations to the government authority located in Rhode Island.
- Minimum downstream/upstream bandwidth equal to or greater than 25/15 Mbps for every connected device. Vendors shall specify how many simultaneous users each Access Point can support.
- Access Points capable of providing coverage in a 360’ radius.
- Ability to process transactions to allow visitors and residents to subscribe to and access the service for a daily/weekly/monthly fee.
- Ability of subscribers to the Block Island Broadband Network to use mobile devices in Public Wi-Fi zones and attach automatically or as seamlessly as possible when transitioning to public Wi-Fi zones.
- A customizable splash page must be presented to users upon initial connection to the Wi-Fi system.
- All initial requests for Internet access on the Wi-Fi network must be redirected to this splash page.
- The solution must support secure transactions and VPNs.
- The Wi-Fi network must be designed for high speed communication with minimum transmission latency.
- The solution must support a mesh topology to provide seamless coverage.
